Editorial standards

Our purpose

Lendrly exists to make UK SME finance legible. We publish education-first guidance so business owners can understand which products and lenders typically fit their situation before they speak to anyone. We are not FCA-authorised and we are not a credit broker. We do not arrange finance, submit applications, or recommend any specific lender as "best".

What we publish

Three families of content: product hubs explaining a finance type (invoice finance, asset finance, merchant cash advances and so on), provider profiles describing each lender's published criteria, and guides covering use cases, sectors and the eligibility checker itself. Calculators and a glossary support the written material.

How we source data

Provider data is taken from each lender's public-facing pages, rate cards and broker packs where available. We capture the criteria they actually publish — minimum trading history, turnover, geography, ticket size — rather than estimates. Industry context is drawn from named regulators, trade bodies and ONS releases. We link out where it helps the reader verify a claim.

Review cadence

  • Provider profiles: reviewed quarterly.
  • Calculators and the glossary: reviewed annually.
  • Product hubs: reviewed every six months.
  • Each page carries a "Last reviewed" date so you can see when it was last checked.

Editorial independence

Lendrly does not accept paid placement. No lender pays to appear, rank higher, or be described in particular language. Coverage decisions sit with the editorial team. If a commercial relationship ever exists in future, it will be disclosed clearly on the page it affects.

Use of AI

We use large language models for research assistance and first-draft writing. Every published page is read and edited by a human before it goes live, and tool output is checked against the original source. The chat guide on the site is an AI assistant — it is bound by the same compliance rules described below and cannot make a regulated recommendation.

Compliance — phrases we never use

The following are absolute editorial rules, applied to written content and to the chat guide alike:

  • We never claim "guaranteed approval" — approval is not guaranteed and sits with the lender.
  • We never claim "instant approval" — decisions are subject to lender underwriting.
  • We never describe a product as the "best loan" — Lendrly does not rank products as best.
  • We never describe a lender as "recommended" or "the best lender" — we are not a broker and do not recommend.
  • We never quote "the lowest rate" — pricing is set per-application by each lender.
  • We never say "we broker your application" or "we arrange finance" — we do not.
  • We never say "we submit applications" — applications go directly to the lender.
  • We never claim "whole of market" coverage — we maintain a curated dataset, not an exhaustive register.

Corrections

Where we get something wrong we fix it and log it. The running list lives at /corrections. If you spot an error, please flag it.

Important — educational guidance only

  • Not regulated by the FCA and not a credit broker.
  • Not financial, legal or tax advice.
  • Not a loan offer and not a guarantee of approval.
  • Subject to lender underwriting — criteria can change.

Lendrly provides general eligibility guidance only. It is not financial advice, a loan offer, or a guarantee of approval.
